This special wickerwork has been developed by TECTA. This material has a very appealing hand and "natural give". It consists of a synthetic endless material, which feels, looks and even squeaks like natural wicker.
Compared to natural wickerwork, TECTA® WICKERWORK has many advantages:
- form-stable
- very durable, hardly cracks or breaks
- easy to clean with warm soapy water
Glossary
stainless steel
The stainless steel tubes have a brushed finish.
Chairs ("E" models) with patented TUBE APLATI stainless steel frames and synthetic wickerwork are suitable for outdoor use.
Care: regular household stainless steel cleaners.
Jean Prouve has been practizing the flattening of round steel tubes already since 1924. TECTA took this revolutionary idea, patented it and incorporated it into their cantilever chair production.
This technique provides additional stability 920% increase) and allows for the stacking feature.
"Jean Prouve is architect and engineer in one person - more correctly architect and artisan builder - because everything he touches results in an elegant, three-dimensional shape. His solutions are brilliant considering durability and industrial manufacturing." LE CORBUSIER
